"Child Refugees, Understanding the Crisis" Panel Discussion @ CARECEN

EVENT DESCRIPTION: Children refugees are increasingly seeking asylum at the US border. This year, as many as 70,000-90,000 are expected to be detained. The strain has been felt by service providers, the federal government, and, most importantly, by the youth.

The current situation has incited anti-immigrant groups to pressure the White House to act punitively against these children. In response, President Obama has requested $3.7 billion to handle the crisis. Most of this money is earmarked for reinforcing the border. We need to care for the Children Refugees!!
